On December 6, 2024, a significant meeting took place at I. Razzakov Kyrgyz State Technical University between the First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kursantbek Omurbekov, and students and faculty of the Energy Institute.
The Vice-Rector for Administrative and Economic Affairs of KSTU, Abay Asiev, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the university and the ministry, noting that such interaction is crucial for training highly qualified specialists in the field of energy. This, in turn, contributes to the development of the energy sector in the country, especially in the area of green energy.
During the meeting, Kursantbek Omurbekov discussed the development of green energy in Kyrgyzstan, the transition to entirely clean energy, and invited students to participate in these efforts. He highlighted that for a successful career in the energy sector, graduates must possess key skills and knowledge, including deep technical expertise in energy, modern technologies, and familiarity with international standards.
The Deputy Minister of Energy also stressed the importance of proficiency in foreign languages, particularly English, which is essential for engaging with international partners and understanding global standards in the energy sector.
Special attention was given to the Ministry of Energy’s commitment to developing green energy production. Omurbekov noted that the ministry is making every effort to implement projects in this area, creating additional opportunities for students and new professionals.
The meeting was conducted in a constructive atmosphere, and participants expressed confidence in the continuation of fruitful cooperation, which will contribute to the advancement of Kyrgyzstan’s energy sector, particularly in the direction of sustainable and green energy.
