Master Class on Digitalization of Hydroponics: Advancing Sustainable Agriculture in Batken

On January 28, 2025, the Green Skills Office at Batken State University’s main campus hosted a master class on “Digitalization of Hydroponics.” The event brought together local farmers, agronomists, private entrepreneurs, university faculty members, and students.

The master class focused on the implementation of automated hydroponic systems to enhance agricultural efficiency. The session was conducted by Elena Gennadievna Popkova, an Honored Worker of Science and High Technologies of the Russian Federation, an Honorary Professor at Batken State University and Osh State University, and one of the Top 2 most cited scientists in the Russian Federation according to the Scopus ranking (2019–2022).

Participants gained insights into modern technologies, scientific approaches, and practical solutions for the sustainable development of agriculture in the region. The session also provided an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and engage in discussions.

This master class was organized to promote a scientific approach to agriculture, which is a key sector in Batken region, and to advance the «University 4.0» model.
