As part of the GreenKG project implemented under the Erasmus+ program, from September 30 to October 5, 2023, a training on the WP3 Quality Assurance work package took place in Hamburg, Germany. The GreenKG project is aimed at the sustainable implementation of green and digital technologies that will enable universities to undergo a green transformation and create a unique ecosystem.
The event was organized by professors from the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science of Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Maria Tropmann and her team, who prepared an intensive training program for the project participants – representatives from 10 universities of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The training included presentations by the Vice President of Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Peter Wulf, and experts from various fields, who shared their knowledge and experience. Among the speakers were representatives such as Jan-Hendrick Schünemann, Prof. Dr. Walter Leal, Dr. Eustachio, Frau Imiela, Frau Trevisan, and Prof. Dr. Thomas Flower. Each presentation sparked lively interest and many questions from the audience. The discussions were active and productive, allowing participants to expand their knowledge and exchange ideas.
As part of the training, the Kyrgyz delegation visited the Faculty of Energy, where a tour of the laboratories was organized. The delegation members familiarized themselves with various models of renewable energy systems presented in the faculty’s laboratories. Participants also visited the roof of the building, where solar panels are installed to provide energy for water heating, lighting, energy storage, and charging electric vehicles.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, Prof. Dr. Thomas Flower, gave a presentation on the faculty’s current research and achievements, while the student team of electric car designers showcased their racing electric vehicle developments. In the process of assembling and testing the vehicles, students use advanced technologies and are supported by alumni and university sponsors.
A special day of the training was dedicated to reports on the progress of project implementation by each participating university from November 1 until the present. Reports were presented by Batken State University (BatMU), Osh State University (OshSU), the Higher School of Medicine (HSM), and Kyrgyz State Technical University (KSTU).
At the end of the event, all participants were awarded certificates from Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. The Kyrgyz delegation expressed their gratitude to Maria Tropmann and her team for their engaging presentations and excellent organization of the training, as well as for their warm hospitality.
The training was an important step towards strengthening international cooperation and exchanging experiences in the field of renewable energy and technical developments.
